August 2005 Archives
This morning we took a family walk to drop Zoe off for her first day of kindergarten. She's been to two years of preschool, so this isn't entirely new to us, but I am still spending all morning wondering how she is doing.
Even though Zoe has been looking forward to this all summer, I know she was nervous last night and today. She hardly showed it this morning. Once she hung her backpack and found her assigned seat she jumped right in to coloring.
I wonder how long it will be before Zoe decides it is too nerdy to have both parents and her little sister walk her to the classroom. I give her a week.
Last night I spent about 15 minutes in Zoe's room helping her decide what to wear today. We went through four dresses and a few skirt and shirt combinations before she decided that she wanted Sarah to wash the skirt she had worn the day before. I would post a picture of the ensemble, but the camera had no battery power this morning. You will have to trust me or not when I tell you it is lovely.
UPDATE: Zoe is doing great in kindergarten. Details to come...
